Was Unsure Beforehand but Really Enjoyed this Film
Minister Alex Evans (denomination unidentified, but obviously mainline, fairly conservative Protestant) and his family move from Colorado to a small southern town that is still reeling from the suicide of high school basketball star Chase Green the year before. Michael, the minister's son, takes Chase's place on the team, begins a relationship with Chase's decidedly non-Christian girlfriend, Jasmine, and is antagonized by Chase's angry, grief-stricken, star center brother, Lucas.

NEW HOPE is, of course, from R-Squared Productions, a Christian film company, so there is little or no sex, gore, violence, profanity, etc. Not rated, but would almost certainly be a "PG": Tame stuff, but not completely Hallmark in all respects--it does show a condom in one scene. This film is certainly open to criticism for being sappy and cornballish in many spots, but it's not-so in many others. NEW HOPE honestly, originally, and often quite humorously addresses many pertinent issues: e.g., the...
New Hope - A New Star!

New Hope is another successful Christian movie from R2 it can be a little slow at times and some of the acting is a little wooden but once again they introduce Ben Davies who is a young actor sent to go far, it is ideal for teens and family viewing alike and gives good moral pointers. But the real & New star is Samuel Davis Wow what a talented young actor who comes over so as so natural with genuine acting skills, he is one name we are going to see a lot more of in 2013, in fact he has a new movie out on DVD on the 22 January 2013 "Abel's Field"

Not an outstanding movie that is the reason for the rating of four but one worth buying!

Great movie!

Great movie to watch with my teenage daughter! It showed teeenagers making good choices that are hard to make. That is rare in movies today.

Excellent introduction to the past & future of currencies

Have you ever wondered how money appeared on the world stage? Do you understand the mechanics of "money creation"? And would you like to know if Bitcoin is more than just a trend in this context?
This documentary will answer all those questions. Even more - it explains the architecture of cryptocurrencies and why they could end up changing much more than just the way we pay.

Is bitcoin the most perfect form of money the world has ever known?

Great film, explains the history of our current monetary system and the invention of the most perfect form of money the world has know, bitcoin. A must see.

and it provides a great look at the relationship between war

I'm in this film but I still learned from it. The deeper history of money was utterly fascinating, and it provides a great look at the relationship between war, money, and government. The transition to cryptocurrency becomes much clearer in light of this history.

Funny, Wisconsin humor

Being from Wisconsin this movie horror comedy is really funny. It was filmed in Hayward Wi and originally titled MUSKIE MADNESS. There are plenty of humorous digs about those Flatlanders from Illinois. We cheeseheads would understand. I plan on buying this movie. I had no idea anyone still had it available.

So Bad, it's GREAT!!!

Blood Hook is one of those movies where the plot is intentioally written for it to be a "bad" film - so much that it becomes a great Troma classic. It takes a great movie to become a classic. This is a GREAT B MOVIE! The fact that it's bad enough to never be released into mainstream theaters and only to Troma video is significant to its attractiveness. This movie could be coined as a cult classic that should be watched at parties or with friends. The acting is B-grade, as well as the plot and overall storyline. But what makes it great is that there are many comic-horror moments where the viewer will find themselves laughing or smiling in amusement at the movie's over-the-top attitude. So, for a fun but mediocre scared time, buy BLOOD HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG EFFIN FUNNY

ok well i dont own this yet but i am looking forward to seeing it.. I live in Hayward Wisconsin where this movie was filmed and have got to say u mention the words blood hook around here every one just laughs cuz they all know that it is a cheezy b film (however worth the watch) i live 2 miles from where they shot scenes from this movie and have to fill everyone in on what really happened. During one day of filming they were shooting a boat scene and no one knew the area wasn't cleared and a kid got sucked into a motor and died it was really gorey and yeah but whoever was swimming in that area was crazy cuz it's nasty water! anyways take this from someone who lives where they filmed this ... watch it if not for the horror but for the laughs it will surely give u! musky madness? haha (however this town anually celebrates a musky fishing tournament and ends with a festival called Musky fest every june) enjoyyyyy
