Review :
Kind of pleasantly surprised

So I was hesitant receiving this product due to all the negative reviews regarding the Dracarys Drogon case. Had it been made of a more stone like material I would have given it 5 stars but as is it's actually really nice. I am uploading photos and the top case and the bottom stand hold together nicely and the dragon came out beautifully and well as the engravings of Dracarys and Game of Thrones. I have yet to try the discs though so I may return if they do not work. I really like the case! But to each their own. Also, note I am a bit obsessed with
game of Thrones sooo it might have biased my perception - but bottom line I do think this should be priced around 20$ lower.

An Amazing Show, but Beware The Rains of Castamere.
When it comes to premium cable, my worlds shift as the year goes on. For thirteen weeks in the fall, I get Showtime to watch HOMELAND and one of the best new shows on cable, MASTERS OF SEX. But for the rest of the year, I go back to HBO, and while there are many other good and compelling shows on that channel, such as THE NEWSROOM, and less so, TRUE BLOOD, the main reason I keep coming back is for GAME OF THRONES. And Season Three was perhaps the ultimate lesson as to why this show keeps you coming back. I've reviewed all of the seasons here, and while I found the first season a little problematic but really good overall, the second season was even better, and it just keeps improving into this season.

It's hard to distill everything that happens in this season, and all the new characters and threats that are introduced, so I'll try to distill it in what I believe are the best moments. Daenerys Targaryen meeting The Unsullied, and her trek in defiance of a "man's world" is...
Good show, terrible DVDs

I've noticed that several of the reviews here are about the series and not the actual product. I am not going to review the series here. For that, you can always check out IMDB, which is where a review of the series belongs. Here I want to address the actual, physical DVDS—the things you purchased or are planning to purchase from Amazon. As others have noted, the DVDs are problematic. In my case, they did play, but took a long time to load, and often rebooted if I only played the first episode on the disc, then tried to play the second episode later. I suspect this has to do with some rather ill-advised attempts at copy protection, thus punishing the legitimate buyers while doing virtually nothing to stem piracy. Three stars because they did play, but no more considering the problems and lag time it took for them to do so.

Description :

Cinemax's first scripted primetime drama series returns. A high-octane, globe-spanning thriller, Strike Back focuses on two members of Section 20, a secret British anti-terrorist organization: Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), a consummate British soldier still struggling to overcome tragedy in his life, and Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton), a disgraced U.S. Delta Force operative who has found redemption with S-20. In Season 3, the series will have a true global canvas, opening in Colombia - with parallel missions in Beirut, Budapest, Russia, and Germany - and following a trail of drug money that is funding terrorists in the Middle East.

Review :
"I'm a soldier, kid. I know pain."
"I can't see where you're comin' from
But I know just what you're runnin' from:
And what matters ain't the who's baddest but
The ones who stop you fallin' from your ladder."

I hear the cool-ass strains of The Heavy's "Short Change Hero" and I know it's time for another season of Strike Back. For the completists, Season 3 is known in the United Kingdom as Strike Back: Shadow Warfare. To them British viewers, this Season 3 is actually Season 4 (or Series 4). Cinemax doesn't count the actual first season (that starred Richard Armitage) because the cable network didn't get involved with co-producing the show until Series 2 (which was then promptly re-labeled as Season 1).

Section 20, that secretive branch of the British Defense Intelligence Service, never rests, even if its top two field agents occasionally do. Sgt. Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester, a Yank actor posing as a Brit) and Sgt. Damian Scott (Sullivan Stapleton, an Aussie posing as a...
Back on Track
I liked season one pretty much but season two seemed to drop off in the story department. Things were stretched pretty thin and were fleshed out with more action. Season three has gotten the series back on track.

Here's the scoop. A mid-eastern terrorist group has been working on a weapons version of smallpox. They have a team in place that will release this in various places and some huge number of people. So....it's up to section 20 to thwart the effort.

This has all the the earmarks of the first two season. Scott and Stonebridge in dicey situations. Down to the second saves. Heavy duty sex/nudity and Scott dropping the F bomb pretty much all the time. But here the plot is much more intricate. The Kamali character is still a mystery. Whose side is he on? And every time the near objective is close at hand, something (or someone) puts it out of reach so, of course, it will come down to a tight finish.

The plot moves at an even pace. The action scenes...
Strike Back Seaon 3

I have seen episodes on HBO and own seasons 1 and 2 and it is really an awesome series. When I first started viewing season one I had to buy it and season 2 and am waiting not patiently for the 3rd season. I have hundreds of DVD's but this show is my favorite of all. It is full of action, the scene locations are excellent, the actors are excellent and there are never a dull moment. I was and am very impressed with the story lines, the combat scenes and the detail used in armament and life like fire fights and the quality used in making the show. Absolutely well done and I give it 5 stars because I cannot rate it higher. I hope this review is helpful to you.
